GMC Future Vehicles

GMC Acadia
  • 2011 GMC Acadia Denali: This high-end trim level will debut in late 2010. It features minor exterior and interior upgrades like 20-inch wheels, a unique front fascia and wood accents in the cabin.

  • 2014 GMC Acadia: The next major redesign of the GMC Acadia isn't expected until the 2014 model year.

GMC Canyon
  • 2011 GMC Canyon: This is likely to be the last year for GMC's compact truck. GM has already announced that it plans to shut down the Shreveport, Louisiana, plant where the Canyon is produced by June of 2012. No firm plans for a replacement are currently in the works.

GMC Savana
  • It's been on the market for 14 years now, so don't expect any big changes to GM's full-size van. As tougher fuel-economy standards loom, however, look for the introduction of smaller, more efficient engines throughout the Savana lineup.

GMC Sierra
  • 2013 GMC Sierra: GM delayed plans for its redesigned pickup after major changes to fuel-efficiency standards were enacted. Now it looks like we'll see an all-new Sierra by 2013. Expect to see a very different engine lineup as GMC works to squeeze more mileage out of its strong-selling full-size truck.

GMC Sierra HD
  • After a mild refresh in 2011, the GMC Sierra HD isn't expected to get any major updates until the 2014 model year.

GMC Yukon
  • 2014 GMC Yukon: The fate of the Yukon is uncertain at this point. GMC may remake the Yukon into a smaller, crossover-type vehicle or simply drop it from the lineup altogether.

GMC Yukon XL
  • 2014 GMC Yukon XL: Plans for a redesign were put on hold as GM reassessed its position in the face of tightening fuel regulations. At this point, GMC is expected to go ahead with plans for a redesign based on the next-generation truck platform, but it's not expected to arrive until 2013.
